Outclass vs Lovable: design first, then build

Lovable builds working web apps from prompts; Outclass designs every screen first. Here's when to use each, and how they work together.

Lovable and Outclass are often mentioned together, but they do different jobs. Lovable is an AI app builder: it writes a working web app, usually React and Tailwind with a Supabase backend, and can host it. Outclass is an AI app designer: it designs every screen so you know exactly what to build.

Why design before you build

Asking an app builder to "make it look better" is a slow and expensive way to design: every visual change is a code change, and it's hard to compare directions. Deciding the design first is faster:

  1. Design every screen in Outclass. Try two or three directions, edit the details visually and check the flow.
  2. Review it with people using a share link, before writing any code.
  3. Build from the design. Give the screens to Lovable, a coding agent or a developer as the reference for what to build.

When Lovable is the right tool

Choose Lovable when you need a working web app quickly, such as an internal tool, an MVP with sign-in and a database, or a prototype people can actually use, and you're happy with its stack.

When Outclass is the right tool

Choose Outclass when the design matters: a native mobile app, an app you'll build with your own team or stack, or a product where you want to compare directions and get the details right before anyone writes code.

Many teams use both: Outclass for the design, Lovable or a developer for the build.
